Pentagram and Rhombus
One of my geometry teachers, Keith Critchlow, pointed out that while many persons who draw a pentagram discover the rotating, recursive nature of the figure, few of them may see the rhombus that is implied. He had spotted one example, however, in one of his wife's quilting books. A woman in America in the nineteenth century had sewn this relationship in red and white. This quilt is my version of this interesting geometry. |
